From the little she has let us know about herself both before and after her missing Leeds years, Catherine Connolly should not be elected President. Not merely because, as previously explained, she has already been given far too many cushy sinecures, but also because she is far too opportunistic in both her political and personal life.
Although she is one of 14 siblings, all of whom her widowed and religious father raised single handedly, Connolly has not been slow to throw him under the bus in appeasement of the coalition of anti-Catholic sectarians underwriting her campaign. In hustings briefings to the media, Connolly has told us that her father was very religious but that she and all her siblings constantly challenged him on his faith, as if the loss of his wife and singlehandedly rearing the lot of those ingrates was not challenging enough.
To put that porkie in perspective, because Connolly was born, appropriately enough perhaps, on 12 July, Kick the Pope Day, in 1957 and would have just turned 22 when Pope John Paul visited Galway in 1979, she grew up in an era when an entire entitled family of 14 siblings living in a government provided house in Galway would not have been openly anti-religious.
Added to that, Connolly says she joined the Legion of Mary in her teens. Had Connolly been more Presidential, she might have said that, though the Legion of Mary did good work, she decided that there was more mileage for her in the secular, political world than in helping deadbeats with the Legion of Mary.
But that brings us to her next problem which is the North of Ireland, which was a byword in ANTIFA terrorism when Pope John Paul visited and when Connolly was a 22 year old socialist on the make. This is relevant, as Connolly pretends to have been largely ignorant of events up North, even though she is close to members of the Farrell family, whose deceased relative Mairéad Farrell was a member of the Provisional IRA during the Troubles, and includes current Sinn Féin TD Mairéad Farrel.
The added relevance of that is Niall Farrell fronts Galway Alliance Against War (GAAW), which the Irish Communist Party tells us, is opposed by “only one old bitter Christo-fascist” which, given Farrel’s Pinocchio record on behalf of his daughter’s political aspirations, is probably another leftist porkie. Notably, the muslim terror attack against Fr. Paul Murphy in Galway, was reportedly motivated by radical rhetoric online. This rhetoric is likely to have emerged potentially from the harsh rhetoric parroted by so-called “anti-war” activism. For someone who wants to be in charge of the Irish Army, should she be president, Connolly has been extremely reticent to comment on this terrorist attack and about those who may have inspired it.
Niall Farrell is also relevant as I brought him to Syria with Clare Daly and Mick Wallace, where Farrell wouldn’t stop speaking about his sister, the serial killer, and where, like all such misery junkeys, he insisted on being the centre of attraction, even in the midst of schoolkids who had survived a Muslim Brotherhood massacre that killed 70 of their tiny tot classmates and on top of an Aleppan building where postal workers were thrown to their death and the excitable Farrell started fist fights because he was being ignored. Though Farrell uniquely refused to enter St. Paul’s Church in Narrow St, which Hindus, Christians, Muslims and all other faiths did until it was destroyed by Islamic radicals. I am unsure if Connolly’s aversion to the faith of her fathers allowed her to enter.
Although Connolly could clarify that and much more, she definitely visited the late Brigid Doody, a Damascus-based Limerick Salesian nun, who endured almost a decade of unrelenting bombing by Islamist, which forced many of her fellow nuns to flee but not Sr. Doody and several of her confreres, who no doubt gave damning testimony to Connolly, which she has now conveniently chosen to ignore, along with so much else.
On top of that, as Farrell had also attended, with Connolly, a prior meeting I held in Buswell’s Hotel where a number of Syrians, one of whom has since been tortured to death by Syria’s new rulers, briefed the audience. Connolly must have had some sense of the savages the Syrian Arab Army were protecting their homeland from even before she travelled there on her jolly with Wallace and Daly.
But now, as she curries favour from Ivana Bacik, Paul Murphy and other ANTIFA-aligned politicians, Connolly lies that she went to Syria to learn more about Palestine and that she regrets meeting Aleppan businessman Fares Shehabi, who has since been tortured and disappeared by the Muslim Brotherhood because, unlike Connolly, he criticised and opposed those cut throats, just like the great Gamal Nasser did in his day.
Had Connolly genuinely been interested in the Palestinian people, Yarmouk Camp is less than 3 kilometres from where she stayed in Damascus, and Shehabi could have introduced her to several of the Palestinian regiments whose volunteers fought and died alongside the Syrian Army. But that was then, and the story now is that thousands of those Palestinians, along with tens of thousands of ordinary Syrians, have been massacred under the watch of Syria’s new “ex-al Qaeda” rulers, who work hand in hand with Israel—the very entity that prawn sandwich munching Connolly purports to oppose.
Although what is left of Ivana Bacik’s Labour Party and Roderic O’Gorman’s Green Party, as well as The Ditch, tell us that Connolly is the greatest proponent Palestine has, this pathetic speech of hers that Simon Harris squashed like the damp squib it was, tells a different story. Quite simply, Connolly was grandstanding on Palestine as part of her electioneering and Harris quite rightly nailed her on it.
Because it is inconceivable that Connolly cares a fig about Gazans, whom she has never seen, when she ignores the plight of gang raped Syrians whom she has seen, we should dismiss her empty Dáil words (one of a chorus of crows) her recent self-serving speech outside her place of work, as well as the on again off again presence of Paul Murphy and a number of other Irish ANTIFA parasites on the Gaza flotilla, which is akin to sending a band of Hare Krishna chanters against the Waffen-SS.
But at least the Hare Krishna are consistent and do not regularly flip flop like Connolly and her acolytes do. Although People Before Profit and the rest of the Connolly Column are up in arms about Obama getting some mickey mouse Dublin award because of all the wars he started, these hypocrites deliberately omit Obama’s Syrian war because they fully supported it and the hundreds of thousands of lives lost there to further Israel’s aims, which they pretend to oppose even though Eoin Hayes, Mr. Blackface himself, whom Connolly fully exonerated, worked for Palantir, universally known to operate as an Israeli spy company which financially remunerated Hayes for his services to their apartheid state.
Although Connolly told her fellow travellers in the Irish Times that she is a symbol of a movement, that is precisely the problem. In her efforts to land the Presidential gig, she has been forced to condemn all violence,, she offers no practical alternative to them or their Yemeni allies for the simple reason that would not serve her selfish interests and she is too thick to see that there are a myriad of players, some of whom were headquartered in Assad’s Damascus, fighting the Israelis in Gaza.
Connolly has been such a scatterbrain that her left fellow travellers have had to distance themselves from her never ending litany of gaffes, which have spanned the gamut from condemning her father and Assad to supporting the Muslim Brotherhood controlled Hamas (which fought the Assad government this ignorant parakeet now condemns) and supporting Gemma O’Doherty’s earlier run for President.
Catherine Connolly, along with all her ANTIFA buddies, is fool’s gold as she does not stand up to scrutiny. Not only is she not fit to be President but she has no concept of what the job entails. Thus, as part of her cliché-ridden effort to make her presidency a “compassionate diplomacy” she vowed to fly to Palestine to broker peace like some kind of Poundland Donald Trump. But the problem with that is she cannot fly there without the permission of the Irish government or, indeed, of the Israeli government, who would no doubt give her a well deserved kick up her well cushioned transom as they don’t suffer fools like her as gladly as we so obviously do.
Because Catherine Connolly is nothing more than Junior Common Room chit chat material, it may have been appropriate for her to recently sound off against “American imperialism” in UCD. But that is the talk of an under informed undergraduate, not of a woman who aspires to be President and who would therefore be expected not to unduly ruffle the easily excitable POTUS Trump.
Catherine Connolly deserves not only to lose this election but to lose it badly. She could have spoken out on behalf of the Syrian people and against the pogroms, gang rapes and other atrocities being waged against them but, Judas like, she chose not to. She could have surmounted the O’Doherty issue and scored some brownie points by nominating Maria Steen, much like some backers of Heather Humphreys did but she chose to hide in the corner and once again lose the right to be anywhere near the high moral ground. Although Humphreys and Gavin both have considerable strengths, Connolly has none, not even her pathetic promise to promote the Irish language and Irish unification, for which Sinn Féin fat cat Mary Lou McDonald claims to have the current franchise and which, as Breandán Ó hEithir tells us in his wonderful Lig sin i gcaithiú, Dev used to spout on about at random country church gates when he was on the election trail.
Whatever about Dev, the hope has to be that Connolly’s blather will get insufficient takers and Ireland can begin to shake itself free from the type of nepotism, cronyism and shallow tokenism Connolly and others symbolise.

A very good essay which deserves a wide readership . Unfortunately the other two candidates are little better . We really need to be able to vote for ” None of the Above ” and have the vote count .

Great to see a forensic character assessment on the only independantly nominated and standing Presidental Candidate. The controlled msm would never give such an account as they would be forced to give an equally forensic account on both government backed candidates, all other candidates being blocked and offering no choice or nomination from the voting public…I’m looking forward to the next 2 articles on both of the other Presidential nominees.
It is also noted that Ms Connolly has the opportunity to defend herself against any unfounded allegations as the comments section has magically
opened up again…sober analysis and facts beats opinionated journalism.
